The Virtual Present: VR Technologies in the Documentary Genre

Duration
90’

A discussion between Natalia Gumenyuk and Joseph Sywenkyj about the particularities of working with VR-360 technologies in documentary filmmaking. The conversation will focus on the Hromadske project Wounds 360° about Ukrainian soldiers recovering after being injured in the war in Eastern Ukraine.

Joseph Sywenkyj is an American photographer of Ukrainian origin who specialises in photo reporting, portrait and news photography. He has worked as a photo reporter in Eastern European and Central Asian countries, in the Middle East and in North America.
