A journalist and film critic who lives and works in Geneva. She graduated from the University of Lausanne with a thesis on the artistic collaboration between the French director Philippe Garrel and the musicians Nico and John Cale. She then continued her studies in Paris (Institut d’Études Supérieures des Arts) where she completed a postgraduate diploma in Cultural Management. As a cultural journalist, Muriel has worked for different Swiss and Belgian newspapers including Cinebulletin and Cineuropa. She has contributed to the Geneva International Film Festival and the Brussels Short Film Festival as a programming assistant and selection committee member. Along with the Eritrean performer Muna Mussie and her longtime artistic partner Giorgia Del Don, Muriel created the performance Monkey See, Monkey Do -Chapter I & II- (2011-12), developed and staged in different art institutions in Belgium (Kaaitheater, Les Brigittines) and Italy (The Valdoca Theater Company, Xing Bologna, MAMbo Museo d’Arte Moderna di Bologna). She has also collaborated with many visual artists including the Belgian photographers and video makers Marine Dricot and Alice Khol, as well as the Swiss-Canadian musician Camilla Sparksss.
