Daniel Abma studied film directing at the Konrad Wolf Film University Babelsberg, with a focus on documentaries. His own films are contemplative and thoughtful, and they received awards at many international festivals. In particular, his film Beyond Wriezen was shown at IDFA and at numerous other festivals and won, among others, the prestigious Grimme Award in Germany. His last work Transit Havana, about the sexual revolution in Cuba, visited more than fifty festivals. At Docudays UA 2017, it was shown in the DOCU/RIGHTS competition program. Today, he also teaches documentary film at the Konrad Wolf Film University Babelsberg, as well as holds workshops and seminars.
The festival pass gives access to the rich Docudays UA offline programme, namely the best documentaries from around the world and meetings with their authors. The 20th Docudays UA will take place on 2–8 June 2023.
2022 pass holders who did not use them during the Docudays UA Special Edition last year can receive a pass for the 20th festival free of charge. If the pass has been used, you can get a 50% discount.
