Docudays UA Industry Platform DOCU/PRO is created to promote the development of the Ukrainian film industry, to establish contacts with international experts in the documentary world, and to create Ukrainian film projects. In particular, it includes training programs and pitchings for directors, as well as workshops and discussions for everyone who is interested in documentary films.
The DOCU/CLASS program includes lectures and presentations by film industry professionals. It is a space in which documentary filmmakers share the experience with their younger colleagues and with each other.
Ukrainian Doc Preview is a presentation of seven Ukrainian films at the rough cut/post-production stage to a group of festival selectors, representatives from international sales companies and funds. Each project’s team will present 15 minutes from their rough cut and answer the panel’s questions.
B2B Doc: Producers Meet Producers is a B2B Doc film industry event, established in collaboration with Docudays UA. Selected participants from Ukraine, Belarus, Armenia, Georgia, Latvia, Poland and Russia will present their film projects to prominent European projects, TV channel representatives, distributors, sales agents and festival selectors.
Meet Professionals offers the chance to arrange a face-to-face meeting with international film industry experts and benefit from their professional advice and networks. Accredited participants can sign up for 15-minute sessions with representatives from film festivals, international sales agencies and funds as well as acclaimed producers.
CIVIL PITCH is a platform for documentary filmmakers and activists of the third sector, where they will have a chance to meet each other and join their knowledge and efforts to create documentary films on relevant social topics, which will be interesting for the wider audience. The films will be screened at the “Zhovten” cinema on March 23rd, at 17:00, “Kinoman” hall.
GLOBAL SHORT DOCS FORUM is a new initiative connecting filmmakers of documentary shorts with digital platforms. What is different about producing a doc for a platform like the Guardian or the New York Times rather than, say, a ‘typical film festival documentary’? Every year, the Docudays UA team compiles a CATALOG OF THE UKRAINIAN DOCUMENTARY. The English version is distributed at specialized international film markets. The catalogue contains information about finished films and projects in progress, as well as contacts of Ukrainian independent producers, film and TV studios, festivals, distributors.
