During the lecture, we will discuss the techniques propaganda makers in contemporary media use. We will speak about the reasons why the amount of low-quality news has increased, and who benefits from it. We will learn about the features of information perception which are exploited by propaganda campaigns. We will also review the quantitative approaches to news analysis and look into the ‘guts’ of an algorithm which searches for manipulation in news articles.
