Oksana Pokalchuk

Oksana Pokalchuk is the director of Amnesty International Ukraine, a lawyer with over 13 years of experience of working in human rights, an attorney and a feminist. She studied at the Academy of Advocacy of Ukraine. Before she became head of the Ukrainian office of Amnesty International, she worked at the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, defended the rights of the LGBT community at Insight, worked in broadcasting, and had a private legal practice. 

Her research interests include the topics of reproductive rights and LGBTQI+ issues; she is currently working on a thesis about assisted reproductive technology. She regularly covers human rights stories in her Territory of Equality blog on Channel 24.
