Martichka Bozhilova

Producer for the Bulgarian AGITPROP group since 1999. Her films include Georgi and the Butterflies (Silver Wolf, IDFA 2004), The Mosquito Problem and other stories (Cannes 2007), Corridor #8 (Berlinale 2008), The Boy Who Was a King (Toronto IFF 2011), The Last Black Sea Pirates (Visions du Réel, HotDocs 2013), Love and Engineering (Tribeca 2014). Founder and director of the Balkan Documentary Center for supporting documentary filmmakers from the Balkans. Jury member at DokLeipzig 2014 and IDFA 2014. Martichka received the International Trailblazer Award at MIPDOC in Cannes for creativity, innovation, originality and breakthrough in the field of documentary cinema. She was ranked in the prestigious selection ‘100 Most Influential Women in Bulgaria’ and in the top 7 most influential Bulgarian creative visionaries according to Forbes. In 2013 she was nominated as Woman of the Year.
