Petra Seliškar is a director, producer, lecturer festival art director, and programmer living in Ljubljana, Slovenia, and Skopje, N. Macedonia. Educated in the Netherlands and UK, Petra has a degree in documentary directing and an MA in media studies. In April 2010, Petra was appointed Artistic Director and Programmer of the MakeDox Creative Documentary Film Festival in Macedonia. She is a member of the Balkan Documentary Distribution Network MOVING DOX, a member of the European Film Academy, and a member of DAE. She works as an advisor and tutor, and has served on many international festival juries and selection committees. She has been an active part of the European film festival landscape. Her company Petra Pan Film has produced and co-produced over 20 feature-length documentaries and fiction and documentary series in the last 18 years, receiving numerous international awards.

Petra has the ability to clearly see the importance in hidden details, and through them, the essence of art, culture, nature, and all aspects of life. That is why she has dedicated her time on this planet to life’s little pleasures, and of course, documentary cinema. Her creative strength can be seen in her documentaries (The Grandmothers of RevolutionMother EuropeMy World Is Upside Down), and she has produced many more, including Mostar UnitedPerfect Circle18 ComidasDays of MadnessBeyond Boundaries, and Wonder When You’ll Miss Me. All of them have had extensive festival tours, won international awards, and been sold to European broadcasters.
