Elwira Niewiera is a Polish/German director and screenwriter of the well-known documentary films The Hamlet Syndrome (2022), The Prince and the Dybbuk (2017), and Domino Effect (2014). Her artistic work focuses primarily on political, social, and cultural transformations in Eastern Europe. Winner of of numerous international awards, among others Best Documentary on Cinema at the 74th Venice FF, Grand Prix Semaine de la Critique at 75th Locarno FF, Golden Dove at the DOK Leipzig FF, Young German Cinema Award 2019 and the prestige American Woman Filmmaker Award Chicken & Egg Pictures 2021.
The festival pass gives access to the rich Docudays UA offline programme, namely the best documentaries from around the world and meetings with their authors. The 20th Docudays UA will take place on 2–8 June 2023.
2022 pass holders who did not use them during the Docudays UA Special Edition last year can receive a pass for the 20th festival free of charge. If the pass has been used, you can get a 50% discount.
