Oleh Shpudeiko

Oleh Shpudeiko is a music composer and sound artist who records as Heinali. He possesses a stylistically diverse back catalogue, however, his core practice reimagines Early music with a modular synthesiser. His album MADRIGALS, a declaration of this approach, was included in the shortlist of the Shevchenko Prize in 2022. He writes music for games, films, choreography performances, creates sound art installations and performs live shows. His works include sound art  installations commissioned by the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, the Ukrainian National Museum of Art (NAMU), and the Odesa Museum of Modern Art.

KYIV ETERNAL, an artwork created in 2023, combines his field recordings of Kyiv collected before the full-scale invasion (through 2011-2021) with ambient ‘memory cycles’ from Oleh’s music archive.
