Co-production in Documentary Film: An Overview of Opportunities Across Different European Countries

20 May 2025

How can you make a film with the support of not only Ukrainian institutions? How can you build trustful collaboration with international film professionals? Holders of industry accreditation will have the chance to explore co-production opportunities on June 12 as part of the DOCU/PRO platform event.

We have invited leading producers from Lithuania (Dagnė Vildžiūnaitė), Poland (Katarzyna Kuczyńska), Norway (Beathe Hofseth), and Canada (Giacomo Nudi) to share their experiences in international co-production and explain how partnerships in documentary filmmaking are built. You will learn about the funding systems in these countries, what co-production opportunities exist with Ukraine, and which local services to pay attention to when planning collaboration. The speakers will share what they consider essential for a successful co-production and what they value most in the producers they work with on projects. At the end of the conversation, you’ll be able to ask any questions you have about co-production.

Participation is available with a DOCU/PRO industry accreditation (available for purchase until May 25). Stay tuned for updates and announcements on the DOCU/PRO platform website. More about the program — read here.

The event will take place at KINO42 cinema with the option to join online.
