On Saturday at the Zhovten Cinema, we will watch LOVE-22-LOVE by Dutch artist and filmmaker Jeroen Kooijmans as part of the DOCU/ART programme.
Then, on Sunday, 7 June, at 4:00 p.m., we invite you to join our friends at independent bookshop Zbirka for the presentation of Jeroen’s book LV-22-LV, which continues the story of the film, followed by an artist talk with the author.
The book LV-22-LV is based on the author’s diaries and personal archive, spanning 33 years of his artistic practice. It tells the story of Kooijmans’s creative journey, his personal struggle with mental illness, his artistic life, and his marriage. It is a nuanced exploration of the complexities of relationships and parenthood while struggling with depression; at its core, however, the film is about a process of self-discovery, self-acceptance, and an attempt to reconcile with one’s own vulnerability.
At the event, you will have a chance to win tickets to the repeat screening of LOVE-22-LOVE on Sunday at 8:00 p.m.
As part of our friendship with Zbirka, throughout the festival, all Docudays UA pass and accreditation holders will receive a 10% discount on all cinema-related books at the bookshop.
Event language: English
Artist talk moderated by Anastasiia Ankovych, Communications Manager at Docudays UA and The Naked Room.
