Call for volunteers for Docudays UA-2026

27 March 2026

We invite you to try your hand at organising the largest human rights documentary film festival in Ukraine. The 23rd Docudays UA will be held on 5—12 June 2026.

To join the Docudays UA volunteer team, please fill in the form here.

We are waiting for your applications until 19 May 2026.

Volunteering at Docudays UA is an opportunity to participate in the organisation of a major international culture and human rights event, meet well-known documentary filmmakers from Europe, America, and Ukraine, improve your language proficiency by talking to international festival participants, develop your communication and organisation skills, and work with a friendly and professional team.

Festival volunteers have a flexible schedule that can be combined with studies or part-time employment. In addition, after the festival we will issue a certificate for everyone to certify their participation in the event. At some higher education institutions, volunteering can be taken into account as work practice—find out the details about this at the dean’s office of your department.

Possible activities at Docudays UA:

  • accreditation of festival participants;

  • communications;

  • editorial section and translation;

  • technical support;

  • coordination of festival locations;

  • guest service;

  • production section;

  • assisting in programme coordination.

Read more about the areas of involvement in the application form.

Required skills and preferred characteristics for candidates:

  • good organisation and communications skills, responsible attitude to tasks;

  • speaking Ukrainian;

  • interest in documentary film and human rights issues;

  • openness to meeting new people and willingness to work in a team;

  • knowing foreign languages may be necessary for volunteering in certain areas of work, but not all of them.

All volunteers will undergo individual interviews and training before the festival. We will also make a festival work schedule in advance, taking into account the availability and individual needs of all volunteers.

For more information, email the volunteer coordinator, Maryna Lazarenko, at [email protected].
