Volunteers

Apply

Docudays UA is looking for people who are ready to try their hand at organizing the only human rights documentary film festival in Ukraine. The next Docudays UA will last for 10 days, from 25 March until 3 April 2022, at several locations in Kyiv and online.

Until 6 March 2022, apply at this link to join the Docudays UA volunteer team.

Volunteering at Docudays UA is an opportunity to apply your skills to organizing a major international cultural and human rights event, meet the best known documentary filmmakers from Europe, America, and Ukraine, practice your second language by talking to international festival guests, develop your communication and organizational skills, and work in a friendly and professional team.

Immersion into the festival atmosphere will also allow you to broaden your knowledge of human rights issues, as well as discover the documentary films that will be presented to the Ukrainian public for the first time at Docudays UA.

Festival volunteers have a flexible schedule which can be combined with studies or part-time employment. In addition, after the festival, each volunteer will receive a certificate of participation. At some colleges, volunteering at Docudays UA can be recognized as an externship: find out the details about this at your department administration,

Possible activities for volunteers at Docudays UA:

  • Accreditation of festival participants.
  • Department of Communications.
  • Editorial Department and translation.
  • Technical Department.
  • Coordination of festival locations.
  • Guest service.
  • Living Library.
  • Exhibition projects.
  • Production Department.

Required skills and recommendations for the candidates:

  • Being organized and sociable.
  • Responsible handling of tasks.
  • Speaking Ukrainian.
  • Being interested in documentary film and human rights issues.
  • Openness to meeting new people and willingness to work in a team.
  • Speaking foreign languages may be necessary for volunteering in some departments, but not all of them.

All volunteers can expect an individual interview and training before the festival. The schedule of working during Docudays UA is also made beforehand, taking into account the availability and individual needs of all volunteers.

We monitor the spread of COVID-19 and follow all the safety measures to prevent it. So please keep in mind that participation in the festival’s offline events is only possible if you have a valid vaccination certificate, a negative PCR or express antigen test result (valid for 72 hours) or a recovery certificate.
