There was a town called city of light. After 30 years of existence, the war and 8 years in the gray zone extinguished the last hope: the main enterprise, the Vuhlehirsk TPP, was scheduled to be closed.

A gray zone has formed on the border of the war-torn Donbas, where the town of Svitlodarsk is hidden. As a soldier, Sergei accidentally meets a girl here, leaves the service and moves to the frontline city at the call of his heart. The responsibility of becoming a father to Olena's children does not scare him, and he does his best to keep his family afloat.

New soldiers are sent to the city, including Alexander. He is ordered to build a dialogue between the locals and the army, and he believes that this will happen through football. But at this very time, a service is taking place on the outskirts of the town, where a pro-Russian priest is also calling for dialogue, but with the occupiers on the other side of the barricades.

It seems that the only thing that gives this city light is a large power plant, which is no longer able to withstand it and is gradually fading away.

In 3 months, the city is occupied again, the power plant is destroyed, and the fates of the characters change forever.
