A Ukrainian filmmaker born in Siberia travels across Caucasus, Moldova and Eastern Ukraine to confront the ruins left by her country of birth, meeting people marked by occupation, erasure, and fractured identity – reflections of her own story.
A Ukrainian filmmaker born in Siberia travels through Georgia, Moldova, and Armenia to trace the marks of destruction left by the country of her birth. Along the way, she reflects on her own identity through encounters with people living with the consequences of colonisation, war, and cultural erasure. In Moldova, she observes displaced people from Transnistria; in Armenia, refugees forced to leave Artsakh; in Georgia, a family living near an occupied territory.
Through a mosaic of observations, encounters, and places, the filmmaker reflects on her personal story, drawing parallels between countries affected by russian aggression while contemplating the meaning of home and belonging.
