Biography

Polina Herman (Bushynska) is a Ukrainian film producer who actively contributes to the development and popularization of Ukrainian cinema on an international level. Born in Yevpatoria, she has been living and working in Kyiv since 2010, and due to the Russia full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, she moved to Los Angeles.

She received education as a producer at the Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts and the Kyiv National University of Theatre, Cinema, and Television named after Ivan Karpenko-Kary, furthering her knowledge with courses at the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television.

Her career in film production started in 2012, focusing on PR and distribution of Ukrainian films. Since 2016, she has worked at the state film studio National Cinematheque of Ukraine and the company Tatofilm. She founded her own production company UP UA STUDIO, aimed at supporting Ukrainian cinema. In 2023, she founded the company UP USA STUDIO in Los Angeles.

Polina is a member of several prestigious film academies and guilds, including the Producers Guild of America and the European Film Academy. She is also a member of Ukrainian Film Academy. Her activities are not limited to film production; she actively organizes cultural events and supports social projects to promote Ukrainian cinema.

Polina Herman's filmography includes work on documentary and feature films, among which are titles such as Between Us, The Price of Conflict, King Lear: How We Looked for Love During the War,  Salt for the Sea, and many others.
