Darya Averchenko is a Ukrainian producer and script-writer. Darya Averchenko is a Ukrainian producer and screenwriter. She studied journalism at Kyiv International University and continued her postgraduate education at the Free University of Berlin. She has worked as a journalist for Weekly Mirror, TV Channel K1, and TV Phoenix in Berlin, and led the Ukrainian version of the German educational channel Da Vinci Learning. She is a member of the Union of Journalists of Ukraine.
Since 2007, Averchenko has written scripts for fiction and documentary films. Producer’s credits include the successful dramas The Editorial Office (2024) and Volcano (2018), as well as the award-winning documentaries Dixie Land (2016), Ukrainian Sheriffs (2015) and Euromaidan. Rough Cut (2014). For Ukrainian Sheriffs Darya worked in Hollywood on the campaign for the Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film. She has also produced short films on social and cultural topics.
Averchenko is Head of Communications and a member of the Selection Committee at Docudays UA International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival. In 2025, together with Roman Bondarchuk, she opened the multimedia exhibition Kherson. The Steppe Holds at Mystetskyi Arsenal in Kyiv.
