Biography
Ukrainian journalist, documentary filmmaker, and director with seven years of experience, specializing in reportage and short documentary films. She collaborates most frequently with the Ukrainian independent media outlet hromadske.Before full-scale invasion, her work focused primarily on medical and human rights issues. Since 2022, she has been covering events directly from the front line—producing more than 80 reports and portrait stories over nearly four years of the full-scale invasion (published on hromadske’s YouTube channel and receiving millions of views).
She has been a three-time finalist of the Ukrainian journalism competition “Honor of the Profession” (2021, 2022, 2025). In 2024 and 2025, she was shortlisted for the Young Journalists Award by the Thomson Foundation. She participated in the Serhiy Bukovskyi Documentary Film Workshop in 2023–2024. Ksenia is also a participant and winner in the Best Pitch category of the Balkan Watchers 2024 program, supported by the Balkan Documentary Center, and a participant of the ESoDoc 2025 program. She is the winner of the Ukrainian documentary film competition “War in the Lens” in the category Best Video Report.
Currently, Ksenia is working on her first feature-length documentary The Forest Glade. On the anniversary of the invasion, her short documentary No Time to Heal was released on Guardian Documentaries.
