Simone Baumann. Producing political films: Motivations and risks, and the specifics of working in Eastern Europe

Simona Baumann has worked in documentary production for nearly 20 years and leads the documentary department of Saxonia Entertainment GmbH. From 1997-2010, Simone was managing director of the independent production company Le Vision. She is an experienced co-producer, and one of Europe's leading experts on Russia, the former Eastern bloc, and their audiovisual markets. In addition to her production work, Simone has been serving as the German Films Eastern Europe representative since 2005. She also supervised numerous feature film productions in the former Soviet Union as an executive producer and consultant.  Simone Baumann is also a founding member of the Russian-German Film Academy and has been a board member of the German Documentary Producer's association since 2003.

      Festival Pass

      The festival pass gives access to the rich Docudays UA offline programme, namely the best documentaries from around the world and meetings with their authors. The 20th Docudays UA will take place on 2–8 June 2023.

      2022 pass holders who did not use them during the Docudays UA Special Edition last year can receive a pass for the 20th festival free of charge. If the pass has been used, you can get a 50% discount. To apply for it, please email us at [email protected] and indicate the email address specified in your previous order.

      From 3 May: Pass price: UAH 750.
      Student pass: UAH 500.

      From 30 May: Pass price: UAH 1,200. Student pass: UAH 700.

      To purchase the pass, please enter your given name and surname, email, and phone number. If the payment was successful, you will receive an email with the necessary information and a certificate. The certificate will not indicate your name or surname.

      *If you are a student, please indicate the number of your student ID during the purchase. You will also have to present your student ID as you receive your pass.
