Oksana Sarkisova

Oksana is a Program Director at the Verzio International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival and an Associate Researcher at the Central European University, Budapest.  She received her PhD in history from the Central European University, Budapest. Her research interests cover issues of memory and representation, Russian and East European film history, and amateur photography. She teaches graduate courses on film and representation, and has published extensively on Soviet cultural history and film, film industry, contemporary Russian and Eastern European cinema, and Russian amateur photography. Most recently, she directed the Documentary Cinema in the Digital Century summer school at CEU, and has curated several screening at the Galeria Centralis in Budapest.
