Duration
60’

The war in Ukraine has lasted for 6 years. The annexation of Crimea, the hostilities in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions... This war has taken many children’s childhood. Children die, become disabled, lose their parents and close relatives, become homeless, suffer from starvation, are deprived of timely medical care, become victims of human trafficking, etc. War always causes brutal violation of children’s rights, and the Russian aggression in Ukraine is no exception. At the event, we will discuss how Ukraine protects the rights of children in the context of armed conflict, and what kind of assistance the children in the grey zone receive from the state.

Speakers:

Oleksandr Pavlichenko, Executive Director of the Ukrainian Helsinki Human Rights Union;

Aksana Filipppishyna, Children’s and Family Rights Representative of the Ukrainian Ombudsman;

Olena Rozvadovska, founder and head of Voices of Children charitable fund.
