Myths about the immune system: How to stick to common sense during a pandemic?

Duration
60’
Healthy lifestyle, sports, and balanced eating habits are common advice by immunologists if you want to maintain your immune system. But this formula looks unconvincing. So we’re used to strengthening our immune systems with immunomodulators and artificial vitamins. Especially in winter, especially during the pandemic. Or to avoid vaccination so that we don’t “wear out” our immune system. One-third of all Ukrainians don’t trust vaccination in general, according to a study of the Kharkiv Institute for Social Research.

So which of the popular means to improve your body’s protective power are effective? How does vaccination affect your immune system?

What role does our immune system play in the new “corona crisis” reality? What myths about immunity prevent us from overcoming the current challenges associated with COVID-19? How do we effectively develop a collective immunity to fight the pandemic? And what do human rights have to do with it?
