The Human Library

Overcoming cancer, living with drug addiction, and the work of the Iranian community in Ukraine

Duration
90’

In this  Human Library, we will discuss experiences that change lives and become a resource for mutual support and helping others. We will discuss a cancer diagnosis made the day before the large-scale war began and active public work to fight the disease. We will also discuss overcoming addiction and social stigma. Also –  forced relocation from Iran, the Iranian community in Ukraine, and work to protect the independence of the new homeland.

Books:

  • Nadiia Polshcha: “I won my war against cancer, returned to life, and became stronger. Ask me — I’ll tell you how it is.”

  • Tetiana Lebed: “I learned to live with drug addiction and teach others. I am a successful leader, mother, and wife. Ask me — I’ll tell you how it is.”

  • Masud Ghoreishi: “I am the head of the Iranian community; Ukraine became my second home, and I contribute to its victory. Ask me — I’ll tell you how it is.”

Please note: every day in the 'Human Library,' we have three 'reading' sessions – 30 minutes each, from 12:30 to 1:00 PM, 1:30 to 2:00 PM, and 3:00 to 3:30 PM.
