Each story in the Human Library is about embracing diversity, staying true to one’s values, and making conscious choices to help build a civil society. On this day, we’ll explore the work of humanitarian demining specialists and the scale of the issue they face. We’ll hear about the challenges frontline female correspondents encounter and what drives them. And we’ll have an open conversation about coming out, understanding and acceptance of LGBTIQ people in Ukraine, and the ongoing fight for their rights and freedoms.
Books:
Ivan Ternynko: “I’m a demining specialist with three years of war experience. I dream of seeing Ukraine free of mines. Ask me — I’ll tell you what it’s like.”
Anton Hanichev: “I’m an LGBT activist. I help people better understand our community. Ask me — I’ll tell you what it’s like.”
Anastasiia Rokytna: “I’m a war correspondent working in combat zones. Ask me — I’ll tell you what it’s like.”
