Cultural Diplomacy

From the Czech Republic to Chile: the Docudays UA Team’s Festival Calendar

24 October 2025

We continue to develop opportunities for cultural diplomacy on international platforms. In autumn 2025, representatives of the Selection Councis, Programme, Communications, and Fundraising Departments of NGO “Docudays” will attend film festivals including Jihlava FF in the Czech Republic, IDFA in the Netherlands, FIDOCS in Chile, and Porto/Post/Doc in Portugal. Here are the details of their itineraries.

Jihlava FF: October 27–31 – Head of the Programme Department Yuliia Kovalenko will take part in Festival Identity and the New Vision Forum.

IDFA: November 12–18 – Head of the Programme Department Yuliia Kovalenko will serve on the jury of the Dutch Competition.

November 13–17 – Docudays UA Selection Council member and Head of the Communications Department Darya Averchenko will work on film selection for the Docudays UA 2026 programme, take part in DocLab events, and engage in networking with the youth festival network as part of the Current Future programme.

November 14–18 – Programmer Olga Sydorushkina will participate in the professional film market Docs for Sale.

FIDOCS: November 19–26 – A delegation consisting of Programme Director Yuliia Kovalenko, programmer Olga Sydorushkina, and fundraiser Anastasiia Humeniuk will present a special selection of Ukrainian documentaries within the festival’s official programme in Santiago and take part in industry events. Yuliia Kovalenko will also serve as a jury member for the festival’s national competition.

Porto/Post/Doc: November 24–28 – Docudays UA Selection Council member and Head of the Communications Department Darya Averchenko will take part in the industry programme, pitching sessions, and presentations, and will also contribute to the film selection for Docudays UA 2026.

We invite the film community to meet and connect with us — and after the events, we will share travel stories and materials about international festivals on our website docudays.ua.
