Kateryna Botanova is a cultural researcher, curator, and writer who lives and works between Ukraine and Switzerland.
She joined the Frontier Institute as the head of media projects in 2024 and launched the project 25 Strategic Questions to Ukraine with Ukraïner in 2026.
From 2023 to 2025, she was a guest curator of the Research Platform at PinchukArtCentre, where she edited the anthology Reclaiming History. Decoloniality and Art in Ukraine after 1991 and curated the exhibition “Archipelago of History.” In the summer of 2025, Botanova also led the art project “Kherson. The Steppe Holds” at Mystetskyi Arsenal.
Since 2014, she has been co-curating the Swiss biennial Culturescapes.
Her texts have been published in various media as well as in books released by Routledge, McGill-Queen’s University Press, Forum Transregionale Studien, Ibidem Verlag, and others. Kateryna Botanova is a member of PEN Ukraine.

This year, we offer a choice of three types of festival passes: classic, student and morning. The classic pass is valid from June 6 to June 13 at Zhovten Cinema and KINO42, while the morning pass allows you to book tickets for film screenings that start no later than 16:30 at Zhovten Cinema from June 7 to June 13.
