Fueled by rare earth minerals and foreign visionaries, built with Belgian trams, German manufacturing, Polish labor, and French and British capital — EuroKryvbas reveals how Ukraine’s industrial core was once deeply European, before the Soviet Union rewrote its past and silenced its legacy. Today, as mines and factories lie near the frontline, history echoes once more — defying imperial myths with memory and resistance.

EuroKryvbas is a feature-length documentary that explores the European heritage of the Dnipropetrovsk region, highlighting historic buildings that once thrived as centers of business and culture but now face war and decay. A continuation of Eurodonbas (2022, directed by Kornii Hrytsiuk), which documented European architectural sites in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions before their destruction by Russian forces, this new film features interviews with historians and researchers, uncovering the lesser-known European history of the region.
