A coming of age portrait of Roma, from a 13-year old hero of the Maidan revolution, through an orphanage to an uncertain adulthood in his small Ukrainian hometown.

After his mother is deprived of her parenting rights, the 12-year-old Roma escapes to the heart of the Ukrainian revolution, becoming a star of the Maidan uprising. Here, for the first time in his life, the Romani boy Roma is accepted by society and feels that he is needed. In the aftermath of the revolution, Roma ends up at a boarding school for orphans, where the system only provides some conditional assistance, leaving Roma alone with his childhood traumas. When he turns 18, Roma returns to his hometown. He tries to find a job and to abstain from drugs, but his efforts are futile. Gradually, he gets immersed in the criminal world. However, hope is always looming somewhere in the future.
