The beauty of the Ukrainian steppe. Askania-Nova is the largest steppe wildlife sanctuary in Europe. It is an isolated kingdom where the fuss of city life has been cancelled out. A place to spend your whole life in. Well, let’s try?

Askania-Nova is the largest steppe wildlife sanctuary in Europe. This "ark" has survived two World Wars and the Soviet period, and "landed" on the shores of contemporary Ukraine. The present and the past are entangled in the reality of this world. The film’s plot unfolds with its three protagonists whose destinies are intertwined because of the Reserve. All of them, like the Reserve itself, live as outsiders to the contemporary reality, but this helped them preserve their unique flamboyance. Will our heroes be able to save the Ukrainian steppe?
