The century-old history of Ukraine through the fates of the Chernobyl zone people. Old twins Nastya and Frosya, Volodymyr  father of two soldiers, and downshifter Ihor  each of them understands love for their native land in their own way.

A village within today’s Chernobyl zone. Twins Nastya and Frosya were born in 1924. During WWII they were taken to Germany as forced laborers. After victory, Frosya fled to Brazil, while Nastya returned home and later chose her native land again. Volodymyr Shovkoshitny lived in Pripyat, worked at the Chernobyl plant, and after the 1986 explosion evacuated his family while joining the liquidators. Despite danger, Nastya returned to her village. In abandoned lands lives artist Ihor, painting apocalyptic visions. In 2022 Russian helicopters seized Chernobyl. Volodymyr’s sons volunteered: George was killed, Rodion fights on.
