Biography

Tetiana Hanzha is a director of the documentary film Bouquinistes. In 2020 she graduated from Kyiv-Mohyla Academy (Ukraine) with a Master's degree in Theory, History of Literature and Comparative Studies. From October 2020 to May 2021, Tetiana participated in the Documentary Film Lab for Young Filmmakers Indie Lab, under the direction of Dmytro Tiazhlov and Ella Shtyka (Kyiv, Ukraine). Her short documentary Books versus Asphalt, which premiered at the American Independent Film Festival (Kyiv), was created in this programme. In 2021, she took part in a series of workshops for young filmmakers Young Europe (Poland), led by Jacek Blawut, Miroslaw Dembinski, Pawel Lozinski, and Lidia Duda. In the summer semester of 2022, she studied in the International Class at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg (Germany) where she developed the project Women Occupied (working title) which she is co-directing with Zoia Volk for ARTE Platform. In 2023, Tetiana studied editing as a guest student at the Lodz Film School (Poland) where she completed her debut medium-length documentary Bouquinistes (Poland, TVP Dokument S.A.).
