Harmen Jalvingh

producer
Biography
Harmen Jalvingh is a Dutch creative producer who has been shaping documentaries at Amsterdam‑based DoxyFixy for nearly two decades. Trained as a historian at the University of Groningen, he soon realised that he preferred capturing human stories on film to analysing them in academic papers, and moved into production full‑time.

Since 2006 he has overseen more than sixty documentary projects, working closely with first‑time and veteran directors alike and guiding titles from early research through post‑production and festival strategy. Jalvingh’s slate ranges from award‑winning sports portraits such as Louis and Becoming Zlatan to the ambitious Ten Commandments series for Dutch public broadcaster EO, reflecting his interest in the intersection of culture, ethics and contemporary society.

As a partner at DoxyFixy he now balances traditional feature‑length work with shorts and television formats, building international co‑production links that help Dutch stories travel while bringing global issues home to local audiences.
