Biography
Vadym Ilkov is a cinematographer and documentary director. He was born in 1972 in Donetsk, Ukraine. He graduated from the I. K. Karpenko-Kary National University of Theatre, Film and Television in Kyiv. He works as a DOP for feature, documentary, and animated films.

His latest projects as a cinematographer include Grey Bees by Dmytro Moiseyev (world premiere at the Rotterdam International Film Festival 2024) and The Editorial Office by Roman Bondarchuk (world premiere at Berlinale 2024). Vadym is one of the organizers of the first Ukrainian open air festival, Sheshory (later renamed as ArtPole). The festival existed for 12 years, brought together various arts, and significantly reshaped the Ukrainian culture landscape. As a director, Ilkov made several documentaries, of which the most well-known is My Father Is My Mother's Brother.
