Olha Raiter. Lviv Film Commission. Work in Progres

Duration
90’

The director and co-founder of the first legal film commission in Ukraine will share her ‘live’ experience of creating the institution and her vision for its future development. The film commission’s aim is to to promote the filming locations of a city and region, as well as to help film crews to obtain permits to film and receive quality service at the locations. The Lviv Film Commission was created as an initiative by local activists and supported by the city hall.

Olha Raiter is an executive director of the Lviv Film Board and a co-founder of Wiz-Art, one of the most visible and active NGOs in the audiovisual field in Ukraine. She was born in Lviv and graduated from the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv in Slavic Philology and Cultural Studies. In 2006 she started a film club at the university, and then following her passion for film, she co-founded the Lviv International Short Film Festival in 2008. A curator and producer, she is also a co-founder of the Wiz-Art Film School, a platform for non-formal education in film; and the annual industry event Lviv Film Meetings.
