From Idea to Implementation: Meet the tutors at Civil Pitch 2.0

21 January 2022

The tutors of Docudays UA’s competition lab Civil Pitch 2.0: Films That Make Changes are Salome Jashi, Daniel Abma and Audun Amundsen. Their films participated in Docudays UA’s competition programmes in different years and received the festival’s awards.

Civil Pitch 2.0: Films That Make Changes is a programme where civil sector representatives and filmmakers come together to create documentaries on socially important topics which will be interesting for the broader audience.

In March, Salome Jashi, Daniel Abma and Audun Amundsen will hold a three-day training session for the selected participants of Civil Pitch 2.0: Films That Make Changes, where they will help them develop project ideas, prepare for the pitching and go through all the stages of film creation.

As a reminder, Civil Pitch 2.0: Films That Make Changes will have three stages:

  1. Until 18 February 2022: A competition of short documentary ideas on relevant social topics: inclusion, anti-corruption, civic activism, and new human rights challenges in the post-pandemic world. The finalists will be announced on 8 March 2022.
  2. At the 19th Docudays UA (30 March 2022): Pitching the film ideas to a group of international experts from various fields in the film industry (representatives of online platforms, sales agents, foundations and festivals). The four winners determined by an international jury will receive funding in the amount of 210,000 UAH to produce their films as well as mentor support.
  3. March 2023: The four films will premiere at the 20th Docudays UA.
