In this conversation, Sergiy Nedzelskyy, Head of Co‑Production & Outsource Commissioning at Suspilne Ukraine, and Alexandre Marionneau, Head of International Co‑production, Society & Culture Department, ARTE France, will discuss the newly established partnership between the two public broadcasters. They will explain how the collaboration works and what benefits it offers documentary producers in Ukraine.
Sergiy and Alexandre will outline the decision‑making systems for co‑production and commissioning on both channels and describe their work within the European Broadcasting Union, the world’s leading alliance of public service media.

Speakers:
Alexandre Marionneau graduated from CELSA (Paris IV — Sorbonne) and began working for a production firm focused on institutional films. In 2012, he joined France Televisions and oversaw the digitization of the channel France 2. In 2017, he notably created and curated the first season of the strand 25 Shades of Documentary. After experimenting with various non-profits (such as becoming CEO of a non-profit dedicated to public speaking training for young people in France), Alexandre joined ARTE in 2021 as the head of international co-productions for the Society and Culture department.
Sergiy Nedzelskyy is a film and television producer with a diploma in Film and TV Production from the National University of Theatre, Film and Television Arts in Kyiv. He currently serves as the Head of Co-Production and Outsource Commissioning Department at Suspilne Ukraine (Ukrainian Public Broadcasting Company). Previously Sergiy Nedzelskyy was a Deputy Head of the Ukrainian State Film Agency, focusing on international cooperation. Throughout his career, Sergiy has produced numerous feature films, series, documentaries, music videos, and commercials for both Ukrainian and international markets.
Darya Bassel used to work in TV and commercial production. In 2011, she joined Docudays UA IHRDFF, where she worked as a programmer and later as head of the industry platform. She started her career as a producer in 2013. Among her producer’s titles: Outside (2022), which had its world premiere at CPH:DOX and was screened at more than 20 film festivals around the globe; Butterfly's Vision (2022), which premiered at Cannes in Un Certain Regard; and The Editorial Office (2024) which had its world premiere at Berlinale’24.
Her latest title, Songs Of Slow Burning Earth, directed by Olha Zhurba, premiered in Venice in 2024, received multiple awards and was nominated as the best documentary at the European Film Awards.
She is a co-producer of the highly acclaimed documentary Intercepted (dir. Oksana Karpovych) and the Oscar-nominated documentary A House Made Of Splinters (dir. Simon Lereng Walmont).
