Jannick (14) loves soccer, but his eyesight is steadily declining. Since he can no longer see well enough to control the ball safely in sighted soccer, he joins a blind soccer team. As he trains hard for his first tournament, he feels increasingly like a part of the team. Slowly, he grows into the team and tries to accept his new situation.
Kilian Armando Friedrich studied performing arts in Hildesheim and Madrid, and film directing in Munich and MexicoCity, with a focus on documentary film. He received the Starter Film Award from the City of Munich in 2022, as well as a nomination for the 2023 Oscars for the short film Survive.
His film Nomades du nucléaire celebrated its world premiere at the 2023 Berlinale and won the German Film Award in the medium-length film category. His graduation film, I Understand Your Displeasure, screened in the Panorama section of the 2026 Berlinale. He also works in film workshops focused on German-French film education.
