Applications are open until 20 April for the RAW DOC showcase for filmmakers who want to receive professional feedback on their documentary films at the final stage of editing. This year, three selected projects will have the opportunity to receive consultations from Spanish producer and consultant Marta Andreu, as well as awards from Rough Cut Service and KINO42.
Marta Andreu is a tutor at Eurodoc, Torino FilmLab, Open Doors and Biennale College. She leads the Walden initiative for film creation and reflection, organising international workshops, seminars and lectures. Marta Andreu has conducted interdisciplinary labs dedicated to her three key themes: portrait (Spain), landscape and memory (Chile, Colombia). She coordinated the Master’s programme in Creative Documentary (2000–2016, UPF, Barcelona), led the DocMontevideo pitching workshop (2009–2024), and was a member of the World Cinema Fund jury (2010–2025).
Marta Andreu has also produced documentary films recognised at international film festivals: Vision du Réel — La terra habitada (dir. Anna SanMartí, 2009), Berlinale — Cuchillo de Palo (dir. Renate Costa, 2010), IDFA — Last Chapter (dir. Peter Torbiörnsson, 2011), CPH:DOX — Salóme (dir. Yrsa Roca Fannberg, 2014), IFFR — Oleg (dir. Andrés Duque, 2015), and FICCI — Amanecer (dir. Carmen Torres, 2018).
Additionally, Marta Andreu will hold an online workshop during the 23rd Docudays UA for holders of DOCU/PRO industry accreditation. The event announcement and details about pass sales will be published soon on our website.
RAW DOC 2026 is once again partnering with several organisations that will support teams with awards. As tradition goes, the KINO42 team will select one of the chosen projects to receive the opportunity to screen a rough cut of the film with their team at the cinema. We are also pleased to announce that this year one of the projects will receive an award from Rough Cut Service. The prize will include a free consultation with one of the organisation’s team members. Film editor and Rough Cut Service member Claudio Hughes will attend the RAW DOC rough cut presentations and select the winner.
Claudio Hughes has been a tutor at IDFA Summer School and Project Space, the Cairo Film Festival, Dok Incubator, Docs Incheon, EIDF and The First Cut Labs in Korea, Docs by the Sea (Indonesia), Docedge (India), Docs Montevideo, and the Berlin Talent Campus. His work has been presented at festivals in Cannes, Locarno, Sundance, Toronto, Berlin, Copenhagen Dox (CPH:DOX), Hot Docs, and IDFA, where two of his films — A Family Affair (2015) and Stranded (2008) — were opening films. Stranded also received the Joris Ivens Award for Best Documentary. His most recent work is Kids Like Me (USA, 2025).
Rough Cut Service was founded by producer Iikka Vehkalahti and film editor Menno Boerema to help outstanding documentary films fully realise their potential. At the same time, the organisation supports talented filmmakers who often work alone in countries where support for documentary filmmaking is limited. Among the films whose teams have received consultations from Rough Cut Service are winners of Sundance, Berlinale, IDFA, and many other prestigious platforms. Last year, within RAW DOC, the Rough Cut Service team supported the project of the film Traces by directors Alisa Kovalenko and Marysia Nikitiuk, which received the Panorama Audience Award at the 76th Berlinale. The Rough Cut Service team consists of thirteen highly professional film editors from around the world. Teams that submit an application on the website can receive a consultation.
RAW DOC is a showcase created for filmmakers working on the final stage of editing (rough cuts) of their films who want to hold a test screening for international industry experts and receive professional feedback.
Don’t miss your chance to take part in the selection — we expect your applications until 20 April 2026.
