We’re telling about the next work of the Ukraine War Archive team from the series of documentaries about the strength and resilience of people who became witnesses to the war.
February–March 2022. Eyewitnesses recall the first shelling of Mariupol’s Eastern residential district, the start of the full-scale invasion, and the total blockade of the city — with no electricity, gas or communications — and how people survived under daily attacks, lacking water and food, while the wounded were left without medicines.
The video documents the reality of the siege of Mariupol, the losses and trauma, as well as the path to recovery — including through the support of the I’Mariupol support centre.
The video was produced by the Ukraine War Archive based on interviews recorded by the Docudays UA team and preserved on the Archive’s platform.
This film was created with the support of the International Renaissance Foundation. Its content is the exclusive responsibility of the authors and does not necessarily reflect the views of the International Renaissance Foundation.
