My Huta is a documentary essay that immerses the viewer in the life of a small Ukrainian village Kurchytska Huta, detached from the fast pace of the modern world. The director returns to her grandparents' home to capture the passage of time, the changing seasons, and the daily lives of the villagers. The combination of live-action footage and animation creates a poetic reflection on memory, loss, and the elusive sense of the past that exists only in imagination. The film contemplates the disappearance of people, places, and moments that once were but now remain only in memory.
