A distinguished pianist known for performing contemporary classical music loses the ability to play at the beginning of the war. His determination to return to the piano turns his performances into a form of healing for wounded souls and an honest voice of culture in a time of profound challenges.

When the full-scale invasion breaks out, Yevhen Hromov, a brilliant Ukrainian pianist, loses the ability to play and hear music. This painful “fermata” (pause) forces him to re-evaluate his art and sense of humanity. He begins a collaboration with Valentyn Silvestrov that revives them both: Silvestrov composes new music, and Hromov gradually transforms it into concerts. The concerts attract an audience seeking healing and reflection, gathering in a cold hall with windows shattered by missile strikes. The story transforms from a portrait of a pianist into a group portrait of national resistance.
