DocWorks UA/UK Program: New Opportunities for Documentary Projects at the Development Stage from Ukraine and the UK. Presentation of the project

Duration
75’

Are you part of an emerging producer-director documentary team with a project in development?

Do you want help devising a strategy to fund, distribute and engage audiences with your film?

Do you want to make new international connections with professionals and peers from Ukraine and the UK?

Do you want to be fully funded to do all of this and attend the Sheffield Doc/Fest in the UK and Docudays UA in Kyiv, Ukraine?

The British Council, Sheffield Doc/Fest and Docudays UA will announce the start of a two-stage feature documentary training and mentorship programme. Three producer-director teams from each country will be selected to participate in sessions taking place in Sheffield in June 2016 and Kyiv in March 2017, with hands-on guidance from leading industry professionals from both countries.

Speakers:

Sylvia Wroblewska is the business and marketing director at Sheffield Doc/Fest. Prior to this, Sylvia worked in documentary film and TV production, beginning her media career as Production Coordinator on the feature documentary The Age of Stupid. She then joined Current TV as an associate producer, working alongside the commissioning editor to manage both one-off and series documentaries from development through to broadcast.

Christine Bardsley has been a film programme manager at the British Council since 2001, following a varied career including stints working overseas on aid-funded development projects. Christine designs film projects, curates programmes and advises on the selection of British short and feature films at international festivals and events. She also leads the British Council’s work on documentaries.

Darya Bassel joined the team of the Docudays UA International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival in 2011. She's been working as a production manager and program coordinator. She also works as production manager on independent documentary and fiction projects.
