Suspilne Ukraine (Ukrainian Public Broadcasting Company): Work Principles and Opportunities for Filmmakers

Suspilne Ukraine (Ukrainian Public Broadcasting Company) is the largest independent media company in Ukraine. Since 2020, it has been actively collaborating with Ukrainian independent filmmakers. When creating commissioned content and in co-production, it focuses on creative historical documentaries to be shown to a wide audience on Suspline’s television and digital platforms, as well as for presentations at international venues (festivals, film markets, special screenings, etc.).

During the presentation, Sergiy Nedzelskyy and Natalie Movshovych will talk about the upcoming launches of competitions for external and co-production filmmaking, interaction algorithms, and practical aspects of working with Suspline. They will also discuss co-production opportunities, festival distribution of the produced content, and current projects in progress.

Among the projects produced for Suspline Ukraine: A Sentimental Journey to the Parajanov Planet, Izolyatsia, Collapse: How Ukrainians Destroyed the Evil Empire, The Great Russian Lie, Shchedryk Against the ‘Russian World’, and others.

Speakers: 

Sergiy Nedzelskyy —  Head of Co-Production and Outsource Commissioning Department at Suspilne Ukraine

A film and television producer with a diploma in Film and TV Production from the National University of Theatre, Film and Television Arts in Kyiv. He currently serves as the Head of Co-Production and Outsource Commissioning Department at Suspilne Ukraine (Ukrainian Public Broadcasting Company). Previously Sergiy Nedzelskyy was a Deputy Head of the Ukrainian State Film Agency, focusing on international cooperation. Throughout his career, Sergiy has produced numerous feature films, series, documentaries, music videos, and commercials for both Ukrainian and international markets.


Natalie Movshovych — Head of Festival Promotion, executive producer.

 

A cultural manager specializing in film promotion, cultural diplomacy, and international cooperation. She currently serves as the Head of Festival Promotion at Suspilne Ukraine (Ukrainian Public Broadcasting Company), within the department for Co-production and Outsource Commissioning. In this role, she oversees the festival distribution and market presentation of films that Suspilne Ukraine co-produces with independent filmmakers, both locally and internationally.

 

Previously, Natalie was the Head of Film at the Ukrainian Institute, Ukraine’s cultural diplomacy organization, where she co-developed the film programme strategy and launched over 50 projects. She also spearheaded proMOTION, a long-term programme that funds the international promotion of Ukrainian films.

 

With years of experience in the audiovisual sector, she has also worked in film distribution for Universal and Paramount Pictures Ukraine, and co-organized three editions of the Odesa International Film Festival.
