Sergey Bukovsky studied directing in the film Department at the Karpenko-Karyi State University of Theatrical Arts in Kyiv. Аfter serving in the army, he worked at the Ukrainian documentary film studio for more than a decade. During his 35-year film career, Bukovsky has made around 40 films. Now Sergey Bukovsky is an independent film director, and a lecturer at the Ukrainian Catholic University in Lviv. In 2014 he created the Sergey Bukovsky film programme for young filmmakers.
