I choose to act is a series of documentary video stories about six Ukrainian human rights advocates. They work in different spheres: defending the rights of people with disabilities and children’s rights, prisoners’ rights and the rights of Ukrainians who are persecuted in Crimea, LGBTQI+ rights and women’s rights. In addition, they fight to bring the people responsible for the murders on the Maidan to justice. During the presentation, the participants will share interesting stories about their activities and tell the audience why they chose the life of helping others 24/7 Everyone who attends the event will be able to learn more about the internal processes of human rights advocacy, make connections, and gain knowledge which will be useful for joining the human rights movement in the future.
