Maman Maman Maman by German-French film director Lucia Margarita Bauer which is featured in this year’s special Docudays UA programme No Image availаble participated in Woche der Kritik, IFF Rotterdam, Viennale and other film festivals in 2019. The phone recordings, letters, photos and Super-8 films made by grandmother herself – the director created an absurd story on searching of her roots, her family and grand-mother who passed away during the shootings and of course about life and relationship.
Director Lucia Margarita Bauer, producer Ann Carolin Renninger and invited curator of No Image availаble programme Tatjana Kononenko will tell about private and public spheres in the documentary essay, work on the film, their methods, and distribution during the open talk.
Lucia Margarita Bauer is a German-French filmmaker, photographer and curator. Born in Riedlingen on the Danube, she lived in Berlin, the USA, Ireland, and Strasbourg, trained as a goldsmith and completed a degree in Experimental Media Design. In Berlin, she has curated exhibitions at the former HBC and the Santa Lucia Galerie der Gespräche. Her first short film, The Snake in the Jar, premiered at Visions du Réel in 2013.
Ann Carolin Renninger, producer, director. Born in 1979 in Flensburg. Studied cultural studies in Leipzig, Strasbourg and Paris. Since 2008, she has been working on the development and production of documentary films for zero one film, Berlin. In addition to this work, she founded joon film, a platform for artistic collaboration in the film sector and lives in Berlin. She was a jury member at various film festivals and art stipend programs.
Tatjana Kononenko is a filmmaker, invited curator of No Image availаble programme. She studied media and communications in Berlin and filmmaking at German Film and Television Academy Berlin (dffb). She works with video and photos in projects related to questions of memory and history.
