International market after the quarantine: how to distribute documentary films tomorrow?

Closed cinemas, postponed festivals quarantine measures had a significant impact on the global film market. The need to adapt scheduled film premieres to online formats mixed up existing cooperations and strategies developed for a month ahead.


How did accents and statuses in film distribution change? What is the most effective way to promote documentary films during the current situation? How to navigate in the film market under new conditions? International film market representatives and filmmakers who already have experience of online film premiere will talk about that during a panel discussion.

 

Participants:

Qutaiba Barhamji is an award-winning film editor and director based in Paris. His works have been selected to travel around the globe at festivals including Venice, Berlin, IDFA, Rotterdam, Paris, Nyon and many others.

Diana Tabakov is an executive director and head of acquisitions at the international VOD platform Doc Alliance Films.

Maëlle Guenegues is a sales agent at CAT&Docs company, which is dedicated to promoting and distributing all types of docs in all media around the world.

Ulrich Brochhagen, commissioning editor and head of documentaries at MDR, Germany;

Nenad Puhovski, director of ZagrebDox.
